We were out walking today while waiting for a new room to move into from the first floor street room with a balcony to a quieter room when we came across the train station and looked into buying a ticket to Lao Cai. Well they cost 1.5 mill dong for 2 adults overnight in a soft sleeper ($67). We had got the travel agent in our reception to book a trip for us but we had to cancel and it cost us a 50% cancellation fee,,,ouch. Now we don't have any accomodation booked or transfers but we arrive first thing in the morning. The way we look at it is we have all day to find a bed or catch the night train home ha ha .
